Breakfast with Santa
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company will sponsor a breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. Price will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under eight. Menu will consist of bacon, sausage, potatoes, apples, eggs, biscuits, orange juice, coffee, tea and milk. “Give the kids a chance to talk with Santa while the whole family enjoys breakfast,” said an organizer.
Anniversary banquet
American Legion Post 174 will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a banquet on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Front Royal Country Club on Rt. 655 near Front Royal at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. The speaker will be Col. Samuel Glasker. For more information call 635-4053.
Welfare League to meet
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. All members and interested persons are encouraged to attend. For more information call 987-8617.
Senior citizen bazaar
The Rappahannock Senior Citizens will hold a Christmas bazaar on Friday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. Featured will be crafts, low priced Christmas gifts, a bake sale and senior citizen photo I.D.’s.
Winter concert at RCES
The Rappahannock County Elementary School choir and band will present a winter concert on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the RCES auditorium. The concert will follow the 7th grade spaghetti dinner.
Also navel oranges, juice oranges and pink grapefruit will be sold before the concert. This is in conjunction with the citrus fruit sale.
Santa at Castleton
The Castleton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will be having Santa Claus at the firehouse on Dec. 9, from 2-4 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and visit with Santa and enjoy cookies and punch.
Trapezoid benefit concert
Trapezoid will play a special benefit concert at the Rappahannock County High School on Saturday, Jan. 19. The show will benefit the seventh grade class trip to Williamsburg. Tickets are now on sale at Washington Video Rentals, Mountainside Market in Washington, Burke’s Grocery in Woodville, Culpeper Music and the New Leaf Bookstore in Warrenton.
