Milton Hawkins
Milton Mortimore Hawkins, 86, of Washington died Nov. 28 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Bertha Burke Hawkins.
Mr. Hawkins was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel and had lived in Maryland for 35 years. He moved to Washington in 1976. He was a member of Five Forks Regular Baptist Church near Woodville, where he served as a trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Thomas McFarland Hawkins; a son, Atha Benjamin Hawkins of Chicago, 111.; four daughters, Katherine Bayne, Mildred Coughlin and Hazel Bragg, all of Culpeper and Bessie Norman of Woodville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Otis Hawkins of Woodville; and two sisters, Ertha Corbin of Huntly and Mary Frances Chadwell of Front Royal.
A funeral was held Nov. 30 at Geest Johnson Funeral Home, the Rev. Hoover Heflin and the Rev. Wilfred Deppen officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.
Pallbearers were Roy Thomas, George Hawkins, Larry. Hawkins, Kenneth Norman, Steven Norman and Shirley Chadwell Jr.
