RICHMOND — The American Heart Association, Virginia affiliate has awarded Rappahannock Unit volunteers the Over the Top Challenge Award and Program Achievement Award for their outstanding performance in the 1989-1990 year.
The volunteers received these awards during the American Heart Association, Virginia Affiliate Volunteer Leadership Conference at the Jefferson Sheraton Hotel. The Over the Top Challenge Award and Program Achievement Award are given to American Heart Association components which exceed their campaign goal by seven percent or more and exceed their goal to reach members in their community with educational programs.
The American Heart Association, Virginia Affiliate, with the support of 70,000 volunteers statewide, continues its mission to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. This year, more than $4.6 million in contributions has
been allocated to research a^fl (immunity education and services to prevent heart disease.
The Rappahannock Chapter ol the American Heart Association is looking for volunteers to assist with its annual residential campaign, which begins in Februrary.
