A “study group” made up of members of the Washington Town Council and Planning Commission has been meeting to review the subdivision ordinance. The study group was ready to send the ordinance to the council for this week’s meeting.
It was to come with a series of proposed amendments. Most are fairly minor.
Two more important amendments would allow some private streets and partially exempt lots created under the 1981 ordinance from the site development standards of the proposed ordinance.
If a lot now in existence is large enough to be divided, -the ordinance would allow one lot to be cut off from it to be served by a private street at least 20 feet wide with a maintenance agreement.
