Rappahannock County Public Schools joins other schools around the state and nation Oct. 14-18 in celebrating National School Lunch Week.
Gov. Douglas Wilder has also officially recognized this week at Virginia School Lunch Week.
Since 1946, the National School Lunch Program has made it possible for schools throughout the nation to serve wholesome, nutritious, lowcost lunches to students each school day. Rappahannock County Schools serves approximately 615 students per day.
This year’s National School Lunch Week theme, “School Lunch: A Winning Choice,” serves as a reminder of the important contribution school meals make to a student’s total nutrition program.
Students -will find menus educational as well as tasty.
School and community belief in the National School Lunch Program, has kept the program alive and' growing for over 40 years.
School lunch is another way to give our children a brighter future.
