Sen. Miller then introduced Del. George Allen, R-Earlysville, who is running against Charlottesville City Councilman Kay Slaughter for the seat now held by retiring U.S. Rep. D. French Slaughter Jr.
Del. Allen said he has passed through Rappahannock on numerous occasions during the campaign, adding, “It’s always a pleasure to look at the great beauty of this county.”
He charged that the Democrats have engaged in “disinformation, lies, distortion, and that sort of tactic” in his race against Ms. Slaughter.
Del. Allen said Congress was “acting disgracefully,” as evidenced by the so-called Rubbergate scandal now hitting the Hill.
