Special education programs are available for pre-school through high school. Sometimes the student can remain in the regular classroom with extra help. Sometimes the student is in a special class for part of the day. Some students are in special classes for most of the day.

A few students cannot receive needed services in Rappahannock schools, and they may be placed in a different day school or in a special residential school, Mrs. Tupper explained.

Student placement is reevaluated every three years, she noted.
