More than 50 Rappahannock County parents, teachers and school administrators gathered for the first annual Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) family gathering Saturday at the Rappahannock County Park in Washington.
After speeches were delivered by school superintendent David Gangel and School Board chairman Beverly Massie, parents and students discussed pressing issues, voiced concerns and exchanged information.
Dr. Gangel opened the seession with words on budding an effective school system “countywide,” saying that every system is composed of parts that work together and school systems are no exception. ; Including parents, teachers, administrators, supervisors, community and school board members in the system, Dr. Gangel discussed school qualities, learning techniques and budget cuts.
