In her welcoming remarks, senior Caroline Brandt said the smaller number of students this year at the school had been "lucky” for her and her classmates. She said it had permitted them to do more independent work and left them “better prepared for the years to come.”
The ceremony combined graduation for four seniors, leaving certificates for eight seventh graders moving to the preparatory school, and academic, sports, and citizenship awards for students in the primary, grammar and preparatory divisions of the school.
Sharon Smith, a special agent with the F.B.I., gave the commencement address, and Kathleen O’Neill gave the valedictory speech.
