Farm Show
The Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show w ill be held July 211-27 at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises. This annual event is an opportunity for youth - apes 6-19 - and adults to enter their exhibits.
Farm Show catalogues and entry forms are available at the Rappahannock Extension Office. Entry deadline is July 2.
This year the Farm Show will include some new or expanded events which include:
Farm Fun Days at the Farm Show are scheduled for Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. Events scheduled for Saturday starting at 1 p.m. include a Pretty Cow Contest, Bingo, Farm Show Feast, Dunking Booth, “Just Country” Band, and Swine Department Events at 6:30. On Sunday from 1-4 p.m., you will find Crafters, “Just Country" Band, Food, Games, Dunking Booth, Petting Zoo, Bingo, Buggy Rides, Virginia Draft Horse Association demonstration, and at 2 p.m. a Cow Milking Contest between Butch Davies and Mike Nelms. The grand finale will be the crowning of Little Mister and Miss CMR Farm Show at 4 p.m. This contest is open for youth ages 3-8 who are residents of Culpeper, Madison, or Rappahannock. Entry forms are available at the Extension Offices.
Another new attraction of the Farm Show this year will be the Teen Dance scheduled from 9-midnight on Saturday, July 25. Cost is $2 and tickets must be bought in advance from one of the three Extension Offices.
Raffle tickets are available at the three Extension Offices. First prize is 100 lbs. of beef, second prize is a hog, and third prize a lamb. Tickets are $1 each or a book of six for |6. Winner to be drawn July 27.
