Mr. Perot offers no excuses for his lack of positions. Again, speaking on “Today,” he responded, “Everyone wants you to jump at things rather than really figure them out.” He has said many times that as President, he would seek the advice of people who are experts in their field of endeavor. In terms of the “quick painless fixes” to which the editor referred, Mr. Perot has said, “Beware of people who offer simple solutions to complex problems.”
Mr. Perot has offered no quick fixes, but has instead brought many taboo subjects to the political forefront. He has shown Washington that there is a constituency other than special interest groups.
