Would you like to enhance the landscape around your home but don’t know where to begin? Or would you like to create beautiful flower arrangements for the home but the method seems too complicated to attempt? These puzzles and other gardening problems can be solved by checking out the new books that have arrived at the Rappahannock Public Library.
Approximately 19 new books on landscape design, gardening, and flower arranging were bought with a $300 check given to the library by the Rappahannock County Garden Club.
There are five fine books on landscape design. The Exuberant Gardener and the Controlling Hand by William H. Frederick is especially valuable because the author is a noted garden designer working in the Delaware and Maryland area. The 13 gardens he pictures and describes are in the Mid-Atlantic area and the plant material used will do well for us too. Included is an appendix listing approximately 600 plants the author considers undemanding, as well as, beautiful.
There are three other books on design with inspiring photos and usefbl information.
