Erodible land

According to the Rappahannock County ASCS all farm program participants must comply with highly erodible land conservation provisions to be eligible for USD A benefits.
These provisions require all producers to have a conservation plan approved by the Soil Conservation Service before planting an agricultural crop on highly erodible land or they must be applying a conservation system on highly erodible land planted to an agricultural commodity.
Producers with approved conservation plans must be actively applying the conservation system contained in the plan. Producers who farm highly erodible land without an approved conservation plan, or under an acceptable conservation system, will be ineligible for USDA benefits on any land they own, operate or have an interest in as a producer.
The conservation provisions apply to all highly erodible land in annual crop production and it will be enforced by ASCS officials. (
Beginning Jan. 1, 1995, all conservation systems must be fully ap- j plied on highly erodible land for a producer to earn program benefits.
Producers who have not fully ap- ( plied their conservation system as of , Jan. 1, 1995, will remain ineligible for USDA program participation until SCS certifies that the conservation system is fully applied.
