According to Lloyd A. Jones, State Director of Fanners Home Administration (FmHA), the agency is actively seeking eligible farm applicants for its Socially Disadvantaged Program (SDA). The SDA Program is administered throughout the state. However, 12 counties have been identified that have a very active agricultural community and a high concentration of minorities. Mr. Jones says the FmHA will attempt to give special emphasis to informing minorities in those counties about the SDA Program in an effort to enhance the protential for participation by minorities in those areas. The targeted counties are Brunswick, Charles City, Greensville, Halifax, King and Queen, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Prince Edward, Southampton, Surry, Sussex and Cumberland.
