Tom Overocker, 11th District Coordinator from the Northern Virginia office, said that there were plans to take petitions to Richmond. He said between 25,000 and 30,000 signatures had been collected in the 8th 10th and 11th Congressional Districts. He estimated that more than 100,000 signatures have been collected statewide. This is far in excess of 13,000 statewide with at least 200 from each district, which is the requirement to get on the ballot.
Mr. Overocker said Virginians for Perot has been reorganized and that the campaign is still being organized. He said he also expected Mr. Perot to announce his candidacy by the end of the month.
