Roundabout

'Addams Family' is movie

"The Addams Family," Rated PG-13, starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, and Christopher Lloyd will be shown at The Theatre at Washington, Va. on Sunday, the weekly RAAC-sponsored movie.

It's creepy and it's spooky and yes, a little kooky! The movie captures the spirit of the mid-'60s TV show and is full of enough sinister sight gags and Gothic giggles to satisfy any Addams addict. Anjelica Huston is the raven-haired, porcelain-pale Morticia, a bewitching beauty with a love for the macabre which drives Gomez (Raul Julia), her adoring husband, to fits of lunatic passion. Their children, Wednesday and Pugsley, turn a snippet of Shakespeare into a hilarious Grand Guignol gross-out. Christopher Lloyd plays a lovable Uncle Fester, but is it really Uncle Fester?

In coming weeks, the Theatre's RAAC movie series will feature: "Star Trek VI," June 28; "Father of the Bride," July 5; "The Great Mouse Detective," July 12; "Radio Flyer," July 19 and "My Own Private Idaho," July 26.
