benefits WCDS
A plant sale to benefit Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly will be held from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 3-7. A variety of plants at very competitive prices will be on display in the school courtyard. Wakefield Country Day is on U.S. 522, ten miles south of Front Royal and two miles north of Flint Hill.
Bedding plants, such as impatiens, marigolds, pansies and petunias will be available. Also for sale will be white, salmon, pink, and red geraniums. Both flower and vegetable seeds will be offered. Rose bushes, azaleas, tomatoes, peppers, and various perennials will be for sale.
Wakefield Country Day is an independent, non-profit school for prekindergarten through 12th graders from within a radius of 50 miles. It has a challenging academic program, as well as a well-rounded curriculum including sports and the arts.

July 4-H camp
Beginning Monday, May 3, Rappahannock Cooperative Extension will be accepting registrations for the 4-H Overnight Camp scheduled for July 11-15. The camp will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center located outside of Front Royal and will include educational workshops, swimming, and other recreational activities.
The Overnight Camp is for youngsters ages 9-12. The cost is $100 if you register before June 1. After June 1, the cost of camp will be $110.
Fifty spaces are available, and registration is on a first-come, firstserve basis. Registration forms are available at the Extension office.
Dr. Denise Horton
appointed to staff
Denise Horton, Ph.D. has been appointed to the summer staff of the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Omega is one of the country’s leading centers for holistic health and spiritual development.
Dr. Horton will be a member of Omega’s Wellness Center staff and is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Washington, D.C. and Washington, Va.
