Congratulations to Peter Heffem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Heffem who has been chosen to attend Governor’s School this summer with the academic school being held at William and Mary June 27-July 24. Heffem is a junior at Culpeper County High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Burke of Rochelle were Thursday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory and family. Mr. Burke enters McGuire Hospital in Richmond on Friday to undergo heart by-pass surgery.

Mr. and Mrs. Markwood Butler and family were in Norfolk last weekend to meet their son and brother Mark when he returned from a six month deployment in the Mediterranean with the U.S. Navy.

Sympathy is extended to the Durant family upon the loss of Mr. Oliver Durant who passed away at 92 years of age last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Tharp and Katrina and Mrs. Rosie Wharton were Sunday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cubbage on Route 615, extended.

Kim Barb and Stephen Whorton members of the Culpeper County High School F.B.L.A. Chapter were in Reston during the past weekend attending the 43rd annual State Leadership Conference. Five other students along with the leaders also attended. Winners in the state competition will go on to the National Conference in Washington, D.C. in July.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Biddie Bennett who celebrated her day on Tuesday.
