The meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club was held on April 21 at the Washington Fire Hall.
The meeting began with a presentation by club member Christine Johnston. The focus of the presentation was how to dry flowers. Mrs. Johnston explained that there are four primary methods of drying flowers. These methods include air drying, stand drying, using beach sand or using silica gel. Other methods, though less popular, include drying in a conventional oven or a microwave oven.
Mrs. Johnston gave several demonstrations throughout her presentation. She also gaVe instructions on how to dry foliage. Not only did she provide the club members with many helpful tips on drying methods, she also gave them a recipe for marigold dip!
