The community is invited to participate in the Opening Day ceremonies for Little League, Rappahannock Athletic Association (RAA) at 12 noon on Saturday, May 1 at Stuart Field. All players should be in full uniform and at the field by 11:30 a.m. For more details call Lydia Pentecost at 937-5975.
Following the ceremony, the drawing will be held for winners of the tickets sold by Miss RAA and Jr. Miss RAA contestants. Prizes include autographed Redskin football, donated by Rick Hunt Ford; soccer ball autographed by Tony Meola, donated by Bruce and Jo Anne Kocenski; oak rocking chair, donated by K.P. and Betty Grigsby; 6x9 bound area rug, donated by Early’s Carpet; hand-painted stool or storage barrell, donated by Sonja’s Craft Shop; silkflower arrangement, donated by I’m so Karin Florist; and cash prizes of $100 and $50. The sale of these tickets benefit the RAA. Special thanks to all who donated items or purchased tickets.
