The day was overcast, but the light sprinkle of rain held off until most of the runners and walkers had finished. Race organizer Jean Lillard reported there were 199 runners and walkers who participated and another 16 who registered but did not participate.

Of those who participated there were 132 males and 57 females. The largest category was for males aged 30 to 34.

The Extension Homemakers drew prize winners in their raffle to fund scholarships for a graduating senior and for three high school 4-H members going to Japan on a summer exchange program. Wendy Weinberg won the quilt made by the Homemakers; Jerry Lane won the painting by Geneva Welch and Judy Tole the flower arrangement from Persimmon Springs.
