The morning begins with dance class taught by Sharon Wyrrick, who is also directing the first annual summer program in the performing arts for teenagers sponsored by Ki Theatre.
“It’s the best workout I’ve had in years,” James Stone said of the dance classes.
Later the 16 teenagers will be separated into two groups. One will have acting lessons with John Derr Landis while the other group has singing classes with Beth Levick. Next the groups switch, bringing the morning program to an end.
All of the Rappahannock teenagers participating in the program agree that the acting class is their favorite part of the day.
After a break for lunch the group works on preparing for their performance, a musical play based on George Orwell’s Animal Farm.
