Mamie Rutherford
Mrs. Mamie Susan Jenkins Rutherford, 84, of Sperryville, died on Friday, July 16 at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
She was born in Rappahannock County to the late Henry Peyton Jenkins and Laura Holmesella Dodson Jenkins.
She was a member of the Flint Hill Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles William Rutherford of Sperryville; four sons, Roger Lee Rutherford of Sperryville, Charles Marshall Rutherford of Stephens City, Robert Jackson Rutherford of Reva, and James William .Rutherford of Castleton.
Also surviving are two brothers, Edward Jenkins of Washington and Ashby Jenkins of Front Royal; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Burke of Catlett and Mrs. Anna Welch of Manassas.
Additional survivors include 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-granchilden.
She wa£ preceded in death by a son, Elmer Dodson; a daughter, Ethel Mamie Jenkins and a brother, Jacob Jenkins.
