He urged the board to adopt the policy. He noted that providing a smoke-free environment had been part of the six-year plan.
Mrs. Massie agreed. “I feel we need to go ahead with this,” she said. “We are trying to be compassionate, but we have to finally put a deadline on and implement it. We have given a year’s notice.”
Only two other board members were present for last week’s meeting and neither was willing to vote for the anti-smoking policy.
