locations and persons from neighboring counties would have access to the Rappahannock Library. Since Rappahannock has not issued library cards, current identification with an address in Rappahannock would be necessary to checkout materials at other locations.

Culpeper County has also agreed to exchange large print editions periodically with Rappahanncok to increase the availability of titles for both systems.

In order to better track circulating materials, the library is in the process of computer automation. A scanning system should be in place by late fall which will allow staff to identify the location of books, keep on top of overdue fines, and facilitate the check-out procedure. All books and other materials will get a bar code and eventually, coded borrowing cards will be issued to all patrons.
