Rappahannock high school chemistry and physics teacher Brion Patterson is one of three Virginia teachers selected as a Governor’s Fellow for the AT&T Teachers and Technology Institute this summer.

Mr. Patterson and high school Principal John Toth went to Richmond last Tuesday to meet with the governor at a ceremony announcing the fellowships.

This week and next Mr. Patterson will be visiting AT&T Bell Laboratories in Somerset, New Jersey, and other nearby AT&T locations to meet and discuss issues with scientists, engineers, researchers and management experts.

Virginia is one of 16 states with teachers participating in the program this summer. During the next two summers teachers from the remaining states and Washington D.C. will participate.
