The summer children’s programs are going well. Programs are held every Wednesday in the meeting room. Most are scheduled for IQ a.m. though a couple will take place in the evening. On July 21, June Hughes will present a program title “Dancing with Dolphin.” These events have been extremely well attended and parents are encouraged to come early to get a good seat. A schedule of events is available at the front desk of the library.
Designed to encourage reading skills outside of school, the Summer Reading Program has enrolled over 100 children. Children are encouraged to record their names and the titles of the books they have read or had read to them on slips at the library. Names are drawn for prizes from a hat every Wednesday following the weekly program and the children must be present to win. Prizes for participants are donated by local merchants.
