Where is the Sludge?
I attended both public hearings on the subject of the Land Application of Sludge. At the second meeting, officials from Bio-Grow Systems, as well as State Health Department Officials and State Water Control Board were present. All of the above named officials had positive comments about Sludge. There was no public opposition to Sludge at either meeting.
I am appalled that after the positive input from the public and the officials at the two public hearings that the Board of Supervisors held a “private” Sludge meeting during the regular June meeting. At this meeting, the Supervisors had an expert speak on Sludge. The Supervisors voted NO to Sludge based on their expert’s information. (I guess BioGrow and State Officials are not expert enough for our Board of Supervisors.) If the Supervisors’ expert had information about Sludge the citizens of Rappahannock County should have been aware of, them they had the right to hear this ex
