Sean Brantley of Honeywell on performance contracting to modernize facilities and save money on energy. The members were interested in pursuing this idea by visiting places where the firm had done business.
Robert Moore, resident engineer at the VDOT Warrenton office, attended the meeting to speak on the problem rainwater runoff from the elementary school is having on property belonging to Carolyn Butler.
Mr. Moore said VDOTs obligation is only to keep the culvert open so water can pass under the road. He said that water naturally drains from 4he elementary school onto that property.
Mrs. Butler said it had not been a problem before the school was built, and it was made worse by the addition. She said she wanted to work out an agreeable solution with the board, but the school was responsible for controlling its runoff and should build a pond to hold it.
