building also improves the quality of care. With a pharmacy tech and a computer, the service is more efficient. Eventually, the clinic would like to add one morning a week for pharmacy refills.

Brown has hopes to increase the number of medical clinics. "For example, we may add clinics in August for school physicals, hold a gynecology clinic, or others as needed. We will also continue the Tuesday clinic which is staffed by nurse practitioners for chronic problems."

In addition, the clinic has plans to hold patient education classes on health topics for their patients. "We also invite community support for assistance in literacy and financial management," added Brown.

The Free Clinic of Culpeper opened in November 1992, in space borrowed from the Health Department on Thursday nights. In addition to offering this space for the clinic, Culpeper Memorial Hospital provided over $63,800 in services to patients of the Free Clinic during 1995 and over $44,200 in 1994.
