The home of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Grigsby was the setting Friday evening for a party honoring Mr. Joe Peregory on his birthday. Others joining in the celebration were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peregory of Front Royal, his wife, Mrs. Peregory and children, Joseph and Jennifer, Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg and family and Chrissy, Kevin and Jason Grigsby.

In spite of the weather a large group attended the Pickin and Sing Along party at the Salem Fire Hall on Friday evening according to a spokesperson who also says the next party will be on Friday evening Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. So mark your calendars now and plan to attend.

Mrs. Robin Grigsby and Mrs. Janet Pe,regory were shopping in Fredericksburg on Wednesday and dined at Market Street.

Mrs. Jerry Mills and daughters, Shirley, Rebecca and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg, Kellie, Karla, Matthew and Mark, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory and family and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Grigsby and family were in Front Royal on Saturday evening as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peregory for a shrimp party and were joined by Mrs. Geraldine Finley and Mr. and Mrs. James Gheen of Mavertown.

The pancake supper held at Salem Fire Hall on Saturday evening was very successful and all in attendance are being thanked for their support of the fire company.

Shelvy Frazier of Castleton Ford Road and Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville were Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier on Turkey Ridge Road.

Down Salem Way we have Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Dodson and Marc as Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Pritt of Stevensburg.
