"We also have a more complete referral center," explained Brown. "We refer patients to physicians for follow-up visits and to other medical and social services as needed. Often we see children in the clinic who arc eligible for Medicaid, and it is easier for us to assist parents in completing the paperwork."
Patients are able to drop off their prescriptions at the clinic during the week and collect the filled prescriptions and refills the following Thursday evening or any day thereafter.
Clinic personnel are able to reduce waiting time at Thursday night clinics by performing simple weight and blood pressure checks for patients during the day.
The larger waiting room has a separate area for children who find toys, books and videos to entertain them. The additional number of patient exam rooms improves patient flow.
