Holiday Open

House Slated

It's November!!! And that means it's time for Culpeper's Annual Downtown Holiday Open House on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on East Davis Streets for an afternoon of entertainment, demonstrations and shopping.

Featured this year will be the third US Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, who will perform on East Davis at 2 p.m. The afternoon is filled with local performers who have generously donated their time: The New Day Singers and the Piedmont Chorale Society will stroll and sing from 2 p.m. onwards and the Orange County Cloggers will perform on East Davis Street from 3-4 p.m.

Demonstrations of old world skills will be provided by Susan Lederhaas, weaving; Paul Losley, chair caning; Sally Mello, rug hooking; and blacksmithing by George Anderton. Calhoun’s Ham House and Country Deli will show you how they make sausages!! The ever popular carriage rides and pictures with Santa will be back too.

Many downtown merchants will be open on Sunday afternoon, all decked out in holiday decor with plenty ideas for holiday gifts. Calhoun's Ham House and Country Deli will be serving lunch and snacks. For further information, call Winnie at 825-4416.
