1 cup brown sugar (packed) 1/4 cup com starch 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup water 1 2/3 cups milk 1/3 cup butter Mix brown sugar, com starch and salt together in saucepan. Add water, milk and butter gradually. Add butter to mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil one minute. Remove from heat. Gradually stir at least half of hot mixture into 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten.
Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil one minute more* stir
