around on some downed tree limbs. We were now ready for the trail back up the mountain. Having carried Krystal the whole way wasn't too bad, as Rebecca and I took turns, but now Charles' legs were given out too. "Becky" gave the back pack to Joshua and Jeffrey, and she and I took turns in toting Charles and Krystal nearly the whole way back.

After loading up again, we drove to the Elk Wallow Wayside and got some drinks, stopping at a few of the overlooks coming back. The kids being fascinated by our sighting two deer. Another photo at Thornton Hollow Overlook, where I showed them by pointing where we'd been. It had grown much cooler now, but what a nice day to have kept my promise to the kids. Will they remember what they saw, what they were told that day? Perhaps. Will they remember that I kept my word to them? Certainly !
