while Rappahannock County is not asked to increase its contribution. However, at press time figures on localities contributions to the current budget were not available.
For fiscal 1996 contributions from the counties totaled nearly $400,700, or about 40 percent of the CSB's budget of $10.1 million.
This summer Mr. Duncan provided the supervisors with a wealth of statistics on the programs covered by the CSB and the relative share of the various counties in these programs.
Rappahannock accounts for 6 percent of the population in the area covered by the agency, but generally accounts for less than 6 percent of the services provided.
The county has a population with a higher percentage of elderly people than is true Of the planning district as a whole. For the senior nutrition sites Rappahannock, with only 19 clients, accounted for 7 percent of the clients but only 5 percent of the meals served. With a handicapped accessible site the county's share of seniors receiving this service is expected to grow. The discrepancy between percentage of clients and percentage of meals is apparently because meals are served in Rappahannock three times per week while they are served five days a week in the other counties.
Besides the meals provided at the nutrition site, the CSB also oversees a program of delivering meals to seniors who are not able to get out. With 22 clients and 2,590 meals in fiscal 1996, Rappahannock accounted for 5 percent of the clients and 4 percent of the meals.
The Community Services Board also provides mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse services for the general population.
