and Saturday, November 2,1 kept that promise. By 10 a.m. I had. my Jeep loaded with my sister, Rebecca, and her three children; Jeffrey, Charles and Krystal; and my other sister's (Connie's), son, Joshua. All of the kids were under twelve years old, the youngest was three. We drove to Skyline Drive and parked at the Hull School Trail.
Down in the valley, Thornton Hollow, is the cemetery where our ancestor, George Robert Baldwin is buried. There too are his wife, Mary Dwyer Baldwin, and a sister-in-law, Thompsie Dwyer Kendall. This is known as the John Henr^ Waters, or Barbara Bowen cemetery. I had even made a tombstone from two eighty pound bags of cement and carved the name, date and age of George on it. After it was hardened enough a trip was planned and those of us who went, made a make-shift stretcher to carry that 160 pound slab the mile or so to the cemetery. No small task, but accomplished as determined.
