After growing up in Washington, D.C. and watching it become more and more crowded, he moved to West Virginia, but found it too far from the art community. After returning to Washington he was drawn to Rappahannock.
Besides being a beautiful place, he says he likes the lack of pretension and the sense of community within a highly diversified population. He said, although he has many friends and attachments to the city, he feels a great deal of animosity to the ugliness of the sprawl and the destruction of the environment.
