The calcium in a one eighth slice of pizza is about 116 milligrams (mg). Most kids eat 3 or 4 slices which would give them at least one serving from the milk group.
A regular cheeseburger has about 111 mg. of calcium. Cheese in a small taco is about 221 mg. A glass of milk has about 300 mg. of calcium. The US Recommended Dietary Allowances of calcium for children in 800 mg. per day and for teens it is 1200 mg. per day. This translates to about 3 servings a day for children and 4 servings a day for teens. You can see that cheese contributes a lot of calcium to our diets and can be a good source.
