Locally: Capt. Jeff Broy/n responded to an accident in Sperryville at 2:17 p.m. on July 7. Eugene Rae of North Carolina, driving a 1994 Jeep Wagoneer was stopped at the intersection of U.S. 522 and Main Street waiting to turn; to head in the direction of Culpeper. Arthur Crocer of Culpeper was approaching idle intersection on U.S. 522 froln Culpeper in his 1987 Pontiac four-door. Mr. Rae pulled out into the intersection in front of Mr. Crocer and was charged with failure to yield right-ofway. There was an estimated $1,500 damage to the Jeep and $1,000 damage to the Pontiac.
The Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office reported another rash of mailbox vandalism )on July 13. Two mailboxes '(in Route 619, Lizzie Mill RoaQ, Castleton were vandalized &td a mailbox on Route 211 in Amissville. The incidents e|e under investigation.
