lb the evident surprise of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors no one showed up to voice their approval or disapproval for the proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance relating to Bed & Breakfasts, Tburist Homes and Boardinghouses. The board followed the Planning Commission’s recommendation and approved the amendments.
The two major changes concern the restriction on the number of people that can be served at a B&B during any one meal. That will now be equal to the number of sleeping accommodations the B&B (or Tburist Home or Boardinghouse) offers to its customers. For a six-room B&B that is 12 people per meal. The other change is the amount of acreage required for a B&B, which will now be a minimum of 10 acres.
The board was surprised again when it received a standing ovation by the more than 20 people who attended the meeting to show support for the application by Lorin and Dietlinde Maazel to permit the operation of a private school (home schooling cooperative), Hearthstone Whole Family Learning Center, on
