If you lived deep in a city, with no opportunity to enjoy fruits and vegetables straight from the garden how would you know what you had missed? Well, needy people living near the Unity of Love Praise Temple will know because for the past decade Trinity Episcopal Church parishioners in Washington have’ been supplying them with fresh vegetables every Sunday in the month of August.

These two churches have built a relationship which has brought Unity of Love Praise Temple to our Washington and taken Trinity into Washington, D.C. Twice a year members of Praise Temple come to share worship with Trinity. The visits which are reciprocal allow members of each church to get to ' know each other and to experience ceremony different from the ceremony that they are accustomed to.

After the church worship service the churches each feast their guests with a marvelous luncheon. It is a wonderful, joyful occasion.

Trinity Episcopal Church is planning to continue the Summer Harvest program, but this year the church would like to invite other members of the community to share in our fabulous program. We plan to take vegetables each Sunday after our 10 a.m. service, beginning Aug. 17, and ending Sept. 14. If you would like to donate your excess zucchini squash or anything else please bring it to the church. If you don’t have a garden, you can bring produce from farm stands.

Some members of the church when cleaning out their houses have taken old toys and clothing to Unity of Love Praise Temple Church. Praise Temple then uses these donations for people in their community in need. For further information please call the church office 675-3716.
