dogs which live near me I can’t. I close the windows and doors and turn on the air conditioner to try and drown out the noise.

Barking dogs! I spoke to the dog warden on July 31 about barking dogs in question. He told me that he didn’t think there was a law about barking dogs. He told me he would speak to the neighbors in questions about the disturbance their dogs make but whether or not he did I don’t know.

Does a dog have the right to disturb a person’s quiet time at home, usually only a few hours a day, by barking continuously?

When a neighbor has a party and it gets too noisy, you can call the police and ... they’ll come out and speak to them about the noise. But you can’t do anything about a dog barking all the time, even if it disturbs you. What’s wrong with this picture?

As a taxpayer in Rappahannock Cbunty, and a resident, I wonder if anyone else has this problem? I think we should get together and see what can be done about it.

If anyone is interested in seeing if an ordinance can be enacted against barking dogs, call me at 635-5675 after 4:30 p.m.

This is a rural, agricultural county of more than 6,000 . residents, yet the lead story in last week’s paper was about a Woodville resident who paid $26,000 for a dress that touched the royal skin of Princess Di. Who cares?

What an insult to people in a community whose normal attire is more likely jeans, a flannel shirt and work boots. And, it was old news.

In the same issue, only one of the six Farm Show photos on page Blwas of a Rappahannock County resident. Dozens of this county’s children, adults and animals participated in that show.

Let’s keep Rappahannock news in the Rappahannock News.
