You’ll learn the council’s stated intent to be to develop a framework of goals “for fulfilling the projected future needs of the town and its populace and for controlling both the quantity and quality of future growth and development without sacrificing the overall goal of maintaining the context of the historic setting, architectural tradition and village character of the town as it has naturally evolved to date.” It’s right there on page 14.
The town is engaged in what its hopefully a work in progress in the best interests of the town, its residents and all those in the county who look to the town as the county seat, the center of arts and entertainment like July Fourth and the Fall House Tour and Dried Flower Show.
