humorous dramatic interpretation; the team of Emily Taylor and Dean Payne, second and the team of Mike Baader and Chris Sause, third in duo interpretation; Adam Rogers, third in storytelling; and Courtney Mauro, second and Ian Blubaugh, third in spelling.

Next for these students is the regional competition at Madison County High School on March 4.

Any of them who place first or second at regionals will advance to the state tournament which will be held in Charlottesville in March.

Throughout the evening judges and students alike were treated to a veritable feast put on by one of Elva Hensen’s culinary arts classes.

Students from that class who helped with the buffet were: Christina Fincham, Chris Graves, Chris Hodo, Heather Johnson, Rebekah Letsen, Jonathan Moore, Kenneth Robinson and Sonya Wigington.

Serving as judges were: Christine Antram, Maggie Rogers, Alex Sharp, George Sharp, Mary Ann Biggs, Elizabeth Blubaugh, Jan La Valley, Paige Coombs, Reed Gillespie, Grace Sims, Laurel Van Horn, Cindy Wayland, Jeanne Grimes, Sharon Kilpatrick, Susan Payne and Sharon Wyrrick.

Time keepers for the event were: Amanda Brown, Brock Hermansen, John Paolicelli and Shiloh Proper.
