Judges for vocalists were Kathy Kneupfer and Jo-An Getsinger, both experienced in choral music. Judges for the instrumental category were professional pianist Emma Sue Amos and George Sims, band director in the Fauquier County Public Schools.
Three vocalists, Lucas, Michelle Fegeas and Emily Clifford, each sang renditions of “My Heart Will Go On," from the movie Titanic. The youngest participant, pianist Nicole Espinola, played Appalossa (Foccatina) by Anne Demarest with precision, clarity and excellent timing.
Wendy Gillis, saxophonist, mesmerized the crowd with Belle Nuit by J. Offenbach. Dale Forrester’s fingering on his violin was notable for its technical difficulty as he played Concerto in A Minor 3rd Movement by Vivaldi Samantha Breeden's beautiful interpretation of "The Way We Were,” sung with warmth and poise, enchanted the audience.
