After a preview of the Rappahannock County secondary road six-year plan by VDOTs Bob Moore, the County’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously for a resolution adopting that plan. At the February Board of Supervisor’s meeting, Mr. Moore spoke of secondary road issues raised at the public hearing this past fall, and highlighted some of the improvements slated.
Among the secondary road projects scheduled for the county over* the next few years are: $170,000 worth of improvements to one-half mile of Harris Hollow Road west of Route 625; $50,000 in curve improvements on Rolling Road (Route 681), west of Route 231; $50,000 in curve improvements on Rock Mills Road (Route 622) west of Route 626 and $80,000 for road reconstruction east of Route 626; and a total of $515,000 to reconstruct the Rappahannock River bridge on Hackley’s Mill Road (Route 645) and to reconstruct approaches on the same road.
The six-year plan shows estimated allocations totaling more than $5 million, with $791,667 of that in the first year (2000-2001).
