Mr. Jackson is a 1980 graduate of Virginia Tech and was employed by the commonwealth for over ten years. In addition, he has served as executive director of the National Society of Consulting Soil Scientists for the past year on a part-time basis, and is a published writer of regional, state and national newspapers, magazines and professional journals.
Mr. Jackson currently is working on two alternative sewage disposal research projects and has co-authored professional papers and posters on these subjects, most recently at the Soil Science Society of America conference in Salt Lake City.
Mr. Jackson resides in Maurertown, and in addition to holding membership in NSCSS, and the Virginia chapter of that organization, he is a member of the Virginia Environmental Health Association, where he recently was elected to a one-year regional delegate term and serves as managing editor of its journal, The VEHA Bulletin. He’s also a member of the Virginia Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association, Virginia Association of Professional Soil Scientists and Keep Fauquier Clean, Inc.
Mr. Jackson is active in his community, serving as an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 88, in Woodstock.
