Five adult volunteer members of Rappahannock Soccer League (RSL) attended the Virginia Youth Soccer Association conference in Richmond on Saturday, Jan. 29. Tom Pendleton (Coach), Royce Rollins (Assistant Coach and Commissioner), Manuel Garcia (Coach), Kathryn Treanor (Scheduling), and Lorinda Bosch (Referee Assignor) donated the time and expense to attend the workshops.
Sessions highlighted officiating games, working with local parks and recreation departments, preparing players for college soccer and coach training.
RSL folks also had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with similarly dedicated (fanatic) people from all corners of the Commonwealth. The RSL Board hopes to encourage more referees, coaches and parents to participate at next year’s conference.
