An essay contest entitled, Thinking About Rappahannock: Today and Tomorrow is being sponsored by the Rappahannock National Bank, Trash Free Rappahannock, Hampton Foundation and the Rappahannock News.
As we enter a new century, this contest is intended to stimulate thought and discussion within the county about the qualities that make Rappahannock a special place and how to preserve what is important.
There will be two age groups: one for 18 and over and one for under 18.
Guidelines will be the same for each age group.
1. These are personal essays which should address two questions: , a. What are the qualities of county life the writer values most today?
